I'm floating in a warm ocean of vacation-y vibes. It's that feeling you get when you're on holiday and you lose track of what day it is, and even though you're in a new place doing new things, you've become so accustomed to your new routine, that it feels like you've been doing it forever.

The time I'm spending with Leo is nothing short of bliss. After opening up to him a few days ago, I feel…different. I came to Elysian to escape from something. I never expected to discover myself the way I am. Being with Leo is unlocking parts of myself I never knew existed.

We spend our days either in his house or on the small stretch of sand in front of it. I'm not ready to dare venturing any further. I'm perfectly happy existing in our own little bubble, loving the little life we're creating together.

We start each day with breakfast in bed. Go for swims on the beach. Endless hours go by as we talk about everything and nothing. We make dinner together. Watch the sun set. We listen to nineties music on the deck with our noses buried in our Kindles.

(And yep, I've totally converted Leo into a MM romance junkie. I can tell when he's getting toward the end of the book because I hear these little sniffles that he tries to hide. He's a total sap for romance, and I love that about him.)

Despite being around each other twenty-four-seven, it doesn't feel like it's too much. We never run out of things to chat about. It's never once felt awkward or like it's too much. We laugh. We drink sparkling wine. We order calorie-laden room service.

And we have sex. So. Much. Sex. To, you know, offset all the calorie-laden room service.

It's late and we're lying in his bed, naked, my fingers stroking small circles across his chest as I lie curled into him. We've just finished dinner. I whipped up some hot dogs for old times’ sake. We've stripped off—me, down to nothing while Leo opted for a kimono—opened the French doors, and are listening to the water as the salty breeze skims over our exposed skin.

We would normally be having sex at this point, but our dicks are currently pursuing legal action against us for breaching labor overtime laws, so we're giving them some time off.

"My turn to ask you something," I say.

"What would you like to know?"

"When I tore up the NDA the first day I got here, you made a comment. Something alluding to you being used to ripping up paper. What was that about?"

I can feel his chest tense up. I lift off him, wanting to see his face. I've unintentionally hit a raw nerve. "Are you okay? Did I say something wrong?"

"No." Leo sits up so we're cross-legged on the bed in front of each other. "I've kind of got a business issue I'm dealing with."

I wait for him to continue.

"There's a chance Elysian might be sold."

"What?" I'm confused.
